Global Roundtable forYoung Scientist Scholar 2020 adopted the “World Young Scientist Summit 2020 Wenzhou Declaration”

Jointly organized by the Young Earth Scientists Network(YES), Global Young Academy(GYA), World Academy of Sciences (TWAS), UN-Habitat, and other international institutions, the Global Roundtable for Young Scientist Scholar 2020 was held at Wenzhou University on October 17. The 50 annually elected young scientists scholars at home and aboard participated in the Roundtable onsite and online and talked about youth's actions for sustainable development.

The World Young Scientist Summit 2020 Wenzhou Declaration was drafted by young participants in the Roundtable, and read out by representatives in the opening ceremony of WYSS on 18th Oct, which expressed aspiration of young scientists to assume the mission of science to change the world.

Ada E. Yonath , the winner of the 2009 Nobel Prize in Chemistry, made a keynote speech in the Roundtable, noted that curiosity is the driving force for his scientific explorations and shared with young scientists some ideas for solving scientific problems with his rich experience in scientific research.

In the last panel of the Roundtable, scientists including Dr. Alexander (Sasha) Kagansky, Director and Professor of the Center of Genomic and Regenerative Medicine, and Mr. Yi Shi, Research Fellow of the Institute of Microbiology, and entrepreneurs including Mr. Yangqing Jia, Vice President of Alibaba, and Dr. Elyvin Nkhonjera Chawinga, Oxfam Malawi - Extractive Industries Coordinator had an in depth discussion on how science and technology can be quickly applied to practice areas and market expansion and how to jointly promote technological development and other scientific topics of public concern through international cross-border collaboration.
