Experts gathered at Global Bio2bio Summit in Taishun to discuss biodiversity conservation

On May 13 2021, the Global Bio2Bio Summit was held in Taishun, Wenzhou. As the first event of the World Young Scientist Summit 2021, the forum, with the theme of "Protecting the Biodiversity, Building a Shared Future for All Life on Earth", brought together 133 outstanding representatives and experts and scholars in the field of biodiversity conservation and biotechnology from more than 10 countries around the world, to discuss relevant topics together. The event attracted more than 120,000 participants online and offline.

Leaders from Taishun County and Academician Prof. Guangmei Zheng’s team, College of Life Sciences in Zhejiang University, Zhejiang Forest Resources Monitoring Center and College of Forestry and Biotechnology in Zhejiang Agriculture and Forestry University respectively signed cooperation agreements at the opening ceremony.

Velia Siciliano, Co-leader of Bio2Bio, and Prof. Yaoru Lu, Academician of CAE and professor of Tongji University delivered addresses. Prof. Huadong Guo, Academician of CAS, Mr. Mingxiang Zhang, deputy secretary-general of the National Wetland Science and Technology Committee, and Prof. Mingjian Yu, professor of the College of Life Sciences in Zhejiang University respectively made keynote speeches.
