"Youth Innovation for Sustainable Development" global π Community Malaysia Hub launched at China-Malaysia Innovation Future Summit

On July 16, to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Malaysia, promote scientific and technological cooperation and innovation between the youth of China and Malaysia, implement the Sustainable Development Goals, and build a community with a shared future for mankind, The China-Malaysia Innovation Future Summit kicked off at Sunway University in Malaysia. the theme of this summit is Innovating the Future Together. Focus on basic science and future technologies to find the best solutions for tracking, implementing and acting on the global Sustainable Development Goals. It aims to encourage potential leaders and change-makers in the field of the future to join this great process. To share the opportunities of intelligent and green scientific and technological progress, enhance the level of scientific and technological cooperation between China and Malaysia, use innovation as the engine to drive the continuous iteration of basic science and applied technology, and accelerate the transformation of scientific and technological achievements to promote economic development and benefit mankind.

At the summit, H.E. Ouyang Yujing, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People’s Republic of China to Malaysia, and YB Dato’ Haji Mohammad Yusof bin Apdal, Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Science, Technology, and Innovation, and Professor Dato’ Elizabeth Lee, Group CEO of Sunway Education, and Jin Xiaoming, Director of China Association for International Science and Technology Cooperation, jointly unveiled and witnessed the launch of the World Young Scientists π Community Malaysia Center.

The establishment of the Global π Community Malaysia Hub is an important node of the World Young Scientists π community in Southeast Asia. It will focus on key emerging industries such as electronic information, biotechnology, renewable energy and digital economy to further promote dialogue, cooperation and collaborative work between young scientists from Malaysia and countries around the world.

The summit also held a memorandum of understanding and signing ceremony between Sunway University Malaysia and China Association for International Science and Technology Cooperation. And the launch ceremony of the China-Asian Future Innovation Competition. At the meeting, the representatives of the world's young scientists π community also organized the China-Malaysia future science and technology cooperation and promotion activities, and introduced the basic situation of China (Wenzhou) intelligence Valley and the supporting policies of science and technology projects and talent recruitment to the young scientists of the participating countries. In the next step, the World Young Scientist π Community will rely on the Malaysia Center to continue to deepen the docking of international high-level science and technology projects and talents in emerging fields such as artificial intelligence, electronic information, biotechnology, modern agriculture, and green energy for Wenzhou (Lucheng).
